Let's keep our Little Free Libraries full this Summer!
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Our students have all turned in their Chromebooks for the Summer, and now they need some fresh reading material to keep their minds engaged, sharp + adventurous!
We want to encourage all of our community members to participate in filling up the Little Free Libraries on our school campuses by either donating to HEF (and HEF will make a trip to Copperfield's each time we reach $100 in donations, where we can purchase in bulk at a discounted rate) OR filling the Little Free Libraries yourselves! They are located on the Healdsburg Elementary, Junior High and High School campuses.
Please support our local bookstores, Copperfield's Books or Levin & Co. by purchasing books there instead of Amazon ~ these are the everyday actions that count and sustain our community! Additionally, you can find a wonderful selection of stories that highlight and celebrate a diverse set of cultures, languages, religions, life choices and traditions by purchasing through the following websites:
Birchbark Books: https://birchbarkbooks.com/onlineshop
First Book: https://www.fbmarketplace.org/
For our younger students, librarian Greta Mesics has provided some recommended authors based on the popularity amongst our students, but please feel free to purchase any age appropriate books, old family favorites, etc. to spread the joy of reading. Lastly, we would like to encourage you to purchase books in Spanish as well, as this can engage some of our Spanish speaking families in reading stories together.
